HOW WE WORK WITH FARMERS

Fresh milk is an essential part of British life and you’ll find it in 96% of fridges.

We buy a fifth of all milk produced on Britain’s farms and we’re pioneering news ways of thinking to ensure a sustainable future milk supply.

MÜLLER ADVANTAGE

We want to be the partner of choice for our customers, farmers and suppliers.

So we are incentivising up to 500 Müller Direct farmers in Britain to participate in Müller Advantage. This programme provides supplying farmers with the tools and support that they need to address a range of issues that are important for our consumers and customers.

Müller Advantage aims to help dairy farmers not only operate successful and progressive enterprises, but proactively address areas like supply chain collaboration, responsible sourcing and reductions in environmental impact.

Take carbon reduction on farm as an example, by adopting new technologies, ways of working and using the latest information and data, we are targeting a 30% reduction in emissions from supplying farms by 2030.

MÜLLER ADVANTAGE NEXT GENERATION

Through our Müller Advantage Next Generation initiative we’re helping to develop and enhance the skills of ambitious young farmers, enabling them to build sustainable and profitable dairy businesses.

The programme, which is fully supported and funded by Müller and the Muller Milk Group, and delivered in collaboration with Kite Consulting, includes workshops, farm visits and visits to Müller sites (in person if safe to do so, or online).

Focus areas include the environment and sustainability, leadership and delegation, market analysis, succession planning, marketing, communication and business improvement planning.

The group meet three times per year, enabling the farmers to share best practice and  knowledge.

One of the main things that attracted me to the Müller Next Generation programme was the chance to meet and learn from like-minded people, we are a group of younger producers who share many of the same business challenges and plans for the future. Being able to discuss and examine issues from each other’s businesses is a great way of bringing ideas home. Farming can be quite an isolated industry and this programme gave us great access to a lively, innovative and supportive group.
